What is concurrent licensing?

Concurrent licensing, also known as floating licensing, it's an alternative licensing model which determines how users are authorized to access a particular software application. There are two main licensing models; named and concurrent licenses.

With a named license model, a fixed license must be purchased and assigned to each user, regardless of how infrequently they use the application. In comparison, a concurrent license model requires enough licenses to cover the maximum number of users accessing the application simultaneously, rather than for every potential user.
